Louis Via has been working alongside Tom Philabaum since the 1970’s. He studied glass at Illinois State University under Joel Myers and has attended the renowned glass school, Pilchuck, in Stanwood, WA. A vital part of the Philabaum glassblowing team for over 30 years, Via is well versed in glassblowing, coldworking, fusing & casting. One of his current series features pulled canes of glass that have been hand cut and expertly arranged & fused in a kiln. His new glass prickly pear sculptures are a gallery favorite. A master glassworker, Louis Via is a Tucson treasure.
