Wesley Justin Hunting was practically born to be a glass artist. The son of celebrated glass artist Wes Hunting, he has been at his father’s side in the glass blowing studio since birth. In their studio in central Wisconsin, the father and son continue to push the boundaries of glass and art. After years of assisting his father, he has emerged with his own unique body of work.
Color and form play off each other in his Deconstructed Vessel series. Brightly colored vessels are carefully blown and cooled. Once cooled, he cuts and deconstructs the glass using a diamond saw. The polished pieces are reassembled, resulting in a unique sculpture with 360° view; there is no front and there is no back. Every sculpture is one-of-a-kind.
