Unique wall hanging by glass legend Henry Halem. The fish is created from Vitrolite, a pressed architectural glass. Enamels & an aluminum frame complete this one-of-a-kind work of art.
Halem, former Head of Glass Studies at Kent State University from 1969 – 1998, first studied ceramics at the Rhode Island School of Design in the 1950’s. While doing post-graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, he became the teaching assistant of Harvey Littleton in one of the first glass programs offered at the university level. Thus began Halem’s career in glass, as he became one of the pioneers in the fledgling American glass studio movement fathered by Professor Littleton. Halem was one of the founding members of the Glass Art Society and elected its first president in 1972.
