Kilnformed Glass & Metal
The kilnformed glass rests in the metal ‘shadow’, held in place by museum wax.
“Casting Light was inspired by the ruins of buildings in a stone quarry in Castletown, Scotland, near where I taught a few times. This piece is inspired by a particular abandoned building façade that casts both shadow and light. The steel base implies the cast shadow with light coming through from the other side of the façade wall. “
