Jason Arnold is a Tucson, AZ native who always had an interest in glass; specifically, flameworked glass. He created glass while renting torch time at the well-known Sonoran Glass School in Tucson, AZ. With coronavirus disrupting the glass school, he transitioned into a private studio and began creating these flower turtles to connect with his daughter, Kiya. He refers to this body of work as the “Benny series” – named after her pet turtle, Benny.
