One-of-a-kind glass sculpture by Tucson, AZ artist Brianna Barron. The artist stretched her own canes, or rods, of glass before fusing them, heating again and hot sculpting on the end of a pipe. The unique sculpture was then acid etched – a truly dynamic piece of art.
Brianna Barron is an artist and glass blower from Detroit, Michigan. She received her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies in 2014 and went on to receive her masters degree in fine arts/craft from Bowling Green State University in 2016.
Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally at venues such as at the National College of Art and Design in Ireland, the Janice Charach Gallery in Michigan, and the Chrysler Museum of Art in Virginia. She has worked as an artist and educator at the Corning Museum of Glass, the Toledo Museum of Art and the Henry Ford Museum.
She started working with glass at the age of 19, and it has been a main component of her work since then. Taking inspiration from the transformative nature of the medium, Brianna embraces the unpredictability and fluidity of molten glass, harnessing its raw energy to create one-of-a-kind sculptures inspired by nature, movement and color.
